What happens in Hollywood can change your life
If you think you have what it takes and a career in dance or entertainment is what you dream about then come realize a true Hollywood experience. With a little self-confidence let fate, hard work, and HBNT help set a steady pace for stardom. For those who eventually break through they soon realize entertainment is a big business in a small world. Let us be a good reason you come to Hollywood and you may discover other avenues while you are here.

Why us, and why not you?
Unless your dreams consist of sitting around, waiting to be discovered then this applies to you. Unfortunately, talent alone is not enough, you have to meet the right people and get a few breaks. Since 1999 HBNT has served as a network for children, teenagers and adults who aspire to break into the entertainment industry.

Your ability to dance can be your career… or your foot in the door. For many, dance segues into other areas of entertainment. With connections made through successful careers in dance, the following are just a few examples.

Ann Fletcher: Dancer/choreographer and now director/producer. Her credits include Step up, 27 Dresses and The Proposal with several other films in the works.

Adam Shankman: Dancer/choreographer and now director/producer. His credits include Hairspray, The Wedding Planner, Bringing Down the House, and Step up 1 & 2.

Kenny Ortega: As one of the biggest choreographers of the 80s on such films as Xanadu, Pretty in Pink, Dirty Dancing and world tours for, Cher and Michael Jackson, Ortega is now a successful director. His credits include High School Musical 1, 2 & 3.

Vincent Patterson, Jamie King, Wade Robson (similar stories) have all gone on to direct world tours for some of the biggest names in entertainment… The list goes on.

This does not mean the natural progression is to leave the dance industry. It serves simply to show dreams can come true and as your passions progress so do the possibilities. And yes, they all know each other… Networking happens in Hollywood.

Accommodations: You are responsible for your own accommodations, however; if you choose to stay at the Universal Studios Hilton (recommended) please let us know as soon as possible to receive any applicable hotel discounts.

Rehearsals will most likely be held on Friday & Saturday evenings and Sunday morning. Be prepared for long hours and possibly off site rehearsal locations.

Perform: If you wish to perform in the HBNT Showcase opening dance segment you must have your own attire (separate from comp). Consisting of black and white with hints of red, it should be something that represents you but fits in with everyone else… Example: Your black and white can be basic and your hints of red can be very you.  Along with new choreography you will learn in rehearsals, combinations taught by Tina Landon and Christopher Michael Jones on Thursday will most likely be used in the HBNT Showcase as well. Choreography will be current but somewhat general in style to accommodate everyone performing.
